One of the issues I sometimes have is that the Checkpoint VPN Client Tray Icon (the yellow key) sometimes disappears from my windows xp start bar. If I try to re-run checkpoint it says its already started. I just found out how to get it back without restarting my laptop - kill the SR_GUI.exe process. Things will automatically restart and the tray icon re-appears again.
BTW...I hate Checkpoint VPN...compared to Cisco VPN its an unstable horrific piece of software. I guess you get what you pay for.

Thank goodness for your post - this thing was driving me nuts. On my system it's TrGUI.exe that needs to be killed; I was able to find it once you mentioned SR_Gui.exe. Thanks again for the post.
I also have the same problem; I wish that they'd fix it.

I experience the same issue. But killing TrGui.exe doesnt help me. When I restart Chechpoint client it doesnt reappear in the tab.
I had the same issue. Killing TrGUI.exe from TaskManager didnt work. But in the CheckPoint folder I found a script called AdminMode which restarted TrGUI with admin privs and that worked.
